perhaps this:
the poorman kill himself because he can't take it anymore, too many failure...
while the rich man kill himself because with his successful life he now have one shamefull mistake that he think all his previous succes no longer matter...

i think the moral msg was that everyone have problem of their own and the size of a problem is relative for everyone.
what may be a small problem for one person could be a huge one for other and so we shall not make judgement on someone else problem... ^^

The man on the left only wrote one letter because that's how much he felt he had to live for. The man on the Right wrote several meaning he had a lot of things to live for or did not want to leave unresolved. Thats my concept.

I get it like the man to the left got one letter with maybe moneyproblem, and took his life... while the man to the right, had a lot of problem (money, couldn't keep the house ect.) and took his life...
That some of us make suicide right away of some problem that can be solwed, While other get so much they cant bear it any longer...
