They duck away, preferring to protect their own interests instead of going on a confrontational course. The USA protects Netanyahu, nobody wants to be accused of antisemitism, the Germans first and foremost, they want to stay out of it, the whole thing is historically charged and an explosive mixture that leads to the Europeans doing practically nothing except appealing a little, the result is more and more deaths.
